What's an OOS?
It’s an Offer of Service, another name for a volunteer Scouter or senior youth (Venturers/Rovers) who attend an event to help.
We need your help to plan and run an amazing event for our Colonies, while also providing you with an amazing time!
OOS Overview
Arrival
To ensure we’re ready to start the celebration as soon as our busses full of Beavers arrive, OOS will need to be on-site early!
Transportation
We ask that you arrive early to the event to help us set up, unless you’re camping over the weekend!
Pricing
The registration fee for OOS will be $20; in light of the contribution you’ll be making to help run this event, your event fee has been partially subsidized.
What will be included with my fee?
We plan to include a lunch to keep you energized! Unfortunately the option for having swag included has passed.
What will you do?
Once we have our OOS, you may be asked to work in one of the following areas:
-
- Activity team; setup and run individual activities
- Program team; help to run the overall program, virtual campfire
- Support team; help with ensuring Colonies find their way, help with communication, youth transporting to washrooms
- Administration team; dot the i’s and cross the t’s, assist the event team
- Receiption team; help with check-in / arrivals, parking management
What do you expect me to do?
As part of the Beaver 50th team, you’ll:
-
- Complete all required training requirements
- Attend OOS information sessions to be planned
- Work with teams or alone, depending on your skill and comfort level
Any questions?
PLEASE reach out to us below – we’d love to make sure that we answer any questions you may have.
We will do our best to make sure that you have as much fun as our Beavers at the event!
